Call to Worship - Psalm 100

(Click below to view reading of our call to worship.)

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the L
ORD with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His.
We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise!
Give thanks to Him; bless His name!
For the LORD is good; His steadfast love endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations.

Songs of Praise & Adoration

Our Great God  -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
Eternal God unchanging, mysterious and unknown,
Your boundless love, unfailing in grace and mercy shown.
Bright seraphim in ceaseless flight around Your glorious throne
They raise their voices day and night in praise to You alone.

(chorus)
Hallelujah, glory be to our great God.
Hallelujah, glory be to our great God.

(verse 2)
Lord we are weak and frail, helpless in the storm.
Surround us with Your angels, hold us in Your arms
Our cold and ruthless enemy, his pleasure is our harm.
Rise up O Lord and he will flee before our sov'reign God!

(verse 3)
Let ev'ry creature in the sea and ev'ry flying bird,
Let ev'ry mountain, ev'ry field and valley of the earth,
Let all the moons and all the stars, in all the universe
Sing praises to the living God who rules them by His Word.

What Wondrous Love Is This  - (audio link)

(verse 1)

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

(verse 2)
When I was sinking down,
Sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down:
When I was sinking down beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul!

(verse 3)
To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing,
To God and to the Lamb I will sing!
To God and to the Lamb, Who is the great “I AM”
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing!

(verse 4)
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And when from death I’m free I’ll sing on!
And when from death I‘m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on!

Confession

Lord I Need You  -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
Lord I come, I confess, bowing here I find my rest.
And without You I fall apart.
You're the one that guides my heart.

(chorus)
Lord I need You, oh I need You,
Ev'ry hour I need You.
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You.

(verse 2)
Where sin runs deep Your grace is more.
Where grace is found is where You are.
And where You are Lord I am free,
Holiness is Christ in me.
Where You are, Lord I am free,
Holiness is Christ in me.

(verse 3)
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way.
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You.
Jesus, You're my hope and stay.
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on You.
Jesus, You're my hope and stay.

Praying for One Another

Romans 12:9-16 says,
“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”

Let’s go to the Lord together in prayer:

  • Pray that God’s commands that we just read above in Romans 12 would permeate our own hearts, the hearts of our city and the hearts of our nation as we continue to grieve over all that has transpired this past week.
  • Continue to pray for the physical and financial needs of others in our church family.
  • Continue to pray for the physical and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions on how to best lead and serve our congregation.
  • Pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders as they lead us in restoring peace to our city and nation as well as continuing to make decisions regarding Covid-19.
  • Pray for the safety of our police and military as they are on the frontlines of restoring peace on our streets.
  • Let’s close by praying the Lord’s Prayer together:

"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Song of Response

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross   -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

(verse 2)
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ, my God.
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

(verse 3)
See, from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

(verse 4)
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
