Call to Worship

Scripture Reading: Psalm 63:1-7
(Click below to view reading)

O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You;
my soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for You,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary, beholding Your power and glory.
Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips, when I remember You upon my bed,
and meditate on You in the watches of the night; for You have been my help,
and in the shadow of Your wings I will sing for joy.

Songs of Praise & Adoration

Come Thou Fount    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Come, Thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace.
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise His name! I'm fixed upon it, name of God's redeeming love.

(verse 2)
Here I raise my Ebenezer, hither by Thy help I come.
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, wand’ring from the fold of God.
He, to rescue me from danger, bought me with His precious blood.

(verse 3)
Oh, to grace how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter, bind my wand'ring heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love.
Here's my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above.

Before the Throne of God Above    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong a perfect plea.
A great High Priest whose name is love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in heav’n He stands,
No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

(verse 2)
When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within.
Upward I look and see Him there,
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.

(verse 3)
Behold Him there the Risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless Righteousness.
The Great Unchangeable I am,
the King of glory and of grace.
One with Himself I cannot die,
My soul is purchased by His blood.
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

Confession

Scripture Reading: Titus 3:4-7

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according
to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by His grace we might become heirs
according to the hope of eternal life.

His Mercy Is More    (audio link)

(verse 1)
What love could remember no wrongs we have done?
Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum.
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore,
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

(chorus)
Praise the Lord, His mercy is more.
Stronger than darkness, new every morn.
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

(verse 2)
What patience would wait as we constantly roam?
What Father, so tender, is calling us home?
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor.
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

(verse 3)
What riches of kindness He lavished on us.
His blood was the payment. His life was the cost.
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford.
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

Praying for One Another

Psalm 103:8-13 says, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep His anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear Him.

Let’s go to the Lord together in prayer:

  • Thank God for His many attributes that we have just read above in Psalm 103.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical and financial needs of others in our church family during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for God to show us, by His Spirit how we can best show the love of Christ to our extended family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions for our congregation.
  • Continue to pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders and that they would seek His face.

Song of Thanksgiving

How Great Thou Art   (audio link)

(verse 1)
O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed.

(chorus)
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!  How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!  How great Thou art!

(verse 2)
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

(verse 3)
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, "My God, how great Thou art!"
