Call to Worship

Psalm 92:1-2, 4

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.
to declare Your steadfast love in the morning, and Your faithfulness by night.
For You, O LORD, have made me glad by Your work.
At the works of Your hands I sing for joy.

I Sing the Mighty Power of God  (audio link)

I sing the mighty power of God,
That made the mountains rise,
That spread the flowing seas abroad,
And built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day.
The moon shines full at His command and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord,
That filled the earth with food.
He formed the creatures with His word,
And then pronounced them good.
Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed, where’er I turn my eye,
If I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky!

There’s not a plant or flow’r below,
But makes Thy glories known.
And clouds arise and tempests blow,
By order from Thy throne.
While all that borrows life from Thee is ever in Thy care,
And everywhere that man can be, Thou, God, art present there.

Confession

Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:1-7

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved.
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter,
He utters his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.

Day By Day  (audio link)

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here.
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Give unto each day what He deems best.
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour.
All my cares He wants to bear, to cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure,
Is a charge that on Himself He laid.
"As your days, your strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then in ev'ry tribulation,
So to trust Your promises, O Lord.
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation,
Offered me within Your holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a Father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Heavenly Father,
We give thanks to You because You are faithful in all Your words and kind in all Your works. We give thanks to You that all of Your promises find their yes in the finished work of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. We recognize that we are sinners saved by Your grace alone. Satisfy us this week with more of Yourself, for Your glory and for our joy.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Song of Hope & Assurance

The Solid Rock  (audio link)

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand.
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood, support me in the ’whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.

Praying for One Another

Psalm 145:18 says “The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Whether you are reading and singing through this worship service alone or you with other family members, let’s take a few moments to be still before the Lord and pray together:

  • Pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of our church body.
  • Pray that we as a church body would trust in Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him.
  • Pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they continue to make decisions for our congregation.
  • Pray that God would give wisdom to our national, state, and local government leaders and that they would seek His face.

The Church's One Foundation  (audio link)

The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord.
She is His new creation by water and the Word.
From heav'n He came and sought her to be His holy bride.
With His own blood He bought her and for her life He died.

Elect from ev'ry nation yet one o'er all the earth
Her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses with ev'ry grace endued.

'Mid toil and tribulation and tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation of peace forevermore.
Till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest,
And the great Church victorious shall be the Church at rest.
