Call to Worship - Psalm 67:1-7

(View video reading of our Call to Worship below.)

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face to shine upon us,
that Your way may be known on earth, Your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You!
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for You judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You!
The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear Him!

Songs of Praise & Adoration

Immortal, Invisible  -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

(verse 2)
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might.
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

(verse 3)
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small,
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all.
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but naught changeth Thee.

(verse 4)
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight.
All praise we would render, O help us to see
Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee!

Revelation Song  -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
Holy, holy is He.
Sing a new song to Him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat.

(chorus)
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come.
With all creation I sing, praise to the King of kings
You are my ev’rything and I will adore You.

(verse 2)
Clothed in rainbows of living color,
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder,
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
To You, The only wise King.

(verse 3)
Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus, Your name is power, breath and living water,
Such a marv'lous mystery.

Confession

Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus   -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

(verse 2)
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

(verse 3)
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee; thou will find a solace there.

Praying for One Another

Colossians 3:12-17 says, “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Let’s go to the Lord together in prayer:

  • Pray through God’s truths that we have just read in Colossians 3 over yourself, your family, and our church family.
  • Pray that the glory of Jesus Christ would reign throughout our city and nation during this time of dispare and grief.
  • Continue to pray for the physical and financial needs of others in our church family.
  • Continue to pray for the physical and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions on how to best lead and serve our congregation.
  • Continue to pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders as they lead in restoring peace to our city and nation as well as continuing to make decisions regarding Covid-19.

Song of Response

Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me   -  (audio link)

(verse 1)
What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer.
There is no more for heaven now to give.
He is my joy, my righteousness and freedom,
My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace.
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus.
For my life is wholly bound to His.
Oh how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine,
Yet not I but through Christ in me.

(verse 2)
The night is dark but I am not forsaken
For by my side the Savior he will stay.
I labor on in weakness and rejoicing
For in my need, His power is displayed.
To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me.
Through the deepest valley he will lead.
Oh the night has been won and I shall overcome,
Yet not I but through Christ in me.

(verse 3)
No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven.
The future sure, the price it has been paid.
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon
And he was raised to overthrow the grave!
To this I hold, my sin has been defeated.
Jesus now and ever is my plea.
Oh the chains are released, I can sing: I am free,
Yet not I but through Christ in me!

(verse 4)
With every breath I long to follow Jesus
For He has said that He will bring me home.
And day by day I know He will renew me
Until I stand with joy before the throne.
To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus.
All the glory evermore to Him!
When the race is complete still my lips shall repeat,
Yet not I but through Christ in me!
