Call to Worship - Psalm 105:1-8

(Click below to watch a video of the reading.)

Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name.
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him, tell of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His holy name, let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!
Seek the LORD and His strength, seek His presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that He has done,
His miracles, and the judgments He uttered, O offspring of Abraham,
His servant, children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
He is the LORD our God. His judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers His covenant forever, the word that He commanded,
for a thousand generations.

Songs of Praise & Adoration

Rejoice the Lord Is King    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Rejoice the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore!
Rejoice, give thanks and sing and triumph evermore.|
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!

(verse 2)
Jesus, our Savior reigns, the God of truth and love,
When He had purged our stains, He took His seat above.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!

(verse 3)
His kingdom cannot fail! He rules o'er earth and heaven.
The keys of death and hell are to our Jesus given.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!

(verse 4)
Rejoice in glorious hope! Our Lord, the Judge shall come,
And take His servants up to their eternal home.
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!

Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Come behold the wondrous mystery
In the dawning of the King.
He the theme of heaven’s praises,
Robed in frail humanity.
In our longing, in our darkness
Now the light of life has come.
Look to Christ, who condescended,
Took on flesh to ransom us.

(verse 2)
Come behold the wondrous mystery,
He the perfect Son of Man.
In His living, in His suffering,
Never trace nor stain of sin.
See the true and better Adam,
Come to save the hell-bound man.
Christ the great and sure fulfillment,
Of the law, in Him we stand.

(verse 3)
Come behold the wondrous mystery,
Christ the Lord upon the tree.
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory.
See the price of our redemption,
See the Father’s plan unfold.
Bringing many sons to glory,
Grace unmeasured, love untold.

(verse 4)
Come behold the wondrous mystery,
Slain by death the God of life.
But no grave could e’er restrain Him
Praise the Lord, He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliverance,
How unwavering our hope,
Christ in power resurrected,
As we will be when He comes.

Confession

Scripture reading: Romans 6:9-11

We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again.
Death no longer has dominion over Him.
For the death He died He died to sin, once for all,
but the life He lives, He lives to God.
So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I Need Thee Every Hour    (audio link)

(verse 1)
I need Thee ev'ry hour most gracious Lord.
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford,

(chorus)
I need Thee, O I need Thee,
Ev'ry hour I need Thee.
O bless me now my Savior, I come to Thee.

(verse 2)
I need Thee ev'ry hour stay Thou near by.
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

(verse 3)
I need Thee ev'ry hour in joy or pain.
Come quickly and abide or life is vain.

(verse 4)
I need Thee ev'ry hour most Holy One.
Oh make me Thine indeed Thou blessed Son.

Praying for One Another

Philippians 4:4-7 says, “ Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice.
Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Let’s go to the Lord together in prayer in our homes:

  • Pray Philippians 4:4-7 over one another in our church family.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical and financial needs of others in our church family during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for God to show us, by His Spirit how we can best show the love of Christ to our extended family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions for our congregation.
  • Continue to pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders and that they would seek His face.

Song of Hope & Thanksgiving

He Will Hold Me Fast    (audio link)

(verse 1)
When I fear my faith will fail,
Christ will hold me fast.
When the tempter would prevail,
He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold
Through life's fearful path.
For my love is often cold,
He must hold me fast.

(chorus)
He will hold me fast,
He will hold me fast.
For my Savior loves me so,
He will hold me fast.

(verse 2)
Those He saves are His delight,
Christ will hold me fast.
Precious in His holy sight,
He will hold me fast.
He'll not let my soul be lost.
His promises shall last.
Bought by Him at such a cost,
He will hold me fast.

(verse 3)
For my life He bled and died,
Christ will hold me fast.
Justice has been satisfied,
He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life,
He will hold me fast,
Till our faith is turned to sight,
When he comes at last!
