Palm Sunday

Call to Worship

Scripture Reading: Psalm 24:7-10

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory!

Songs of Praise & Adoration

“All Glory, Laud, and Honor”

All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
Thou art the King of Israel, Thou David’s royal Son,
Who in the Lord’s name comest, the King and blessed One!

All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
The people of the Hebrews with palms before thee went.
Our praise and prayer and anthems before thee we present.

All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
To Thee, before Thy passion, they sang their hymns of praise.
To Thee, now high-exalted, our melody we raise.

All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King,
To whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
Thou didst accept their praises, accept the prayers we bring,
Who in all good delightest, Thou good and gracious King!

“All Hail The Power Of Jesus’ Name”

All hail the power of Jesus’ name! Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all.

Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all.

Let every kindred, every tribe, on this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him Lord of all.
To Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him Lord of all.

O that with yonder sacred throng, we at His feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all.

Confession

Scripture Reading: Psalm 145:10-19

The LORD is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made.
All your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD, and all Your saints shall bless You!
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and tell of Your power,
to make known to the children of man Your mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The LORD is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works.
The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season.
You open Your hand, You satisfy the desire of every living thing.
The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His works.
The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him.
He also hears their cry and saves them.

“What A Friend We Have in Jesus”

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, thou will find a solace there.

Prayers of Confession & Petition

1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.” What a gift it is that we can take everything: our trials, our weariness, our struggles, our temptations, our weaknesses, our sorrows, to our Heavenly Father in prayer because Jesus Christ has bore all our sin! Let’s go to Him in prayer:

  • Take a few moments to share our cares and burdens with Him.
  • Pray that God would reveal sin in our own lives and that our hearts would not become harden by the deceitfulness of sin.
  • Pray for God to show us, by His Spirit how we can best show the love of Christ to our friends, neighbors, and co-workers during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of others in our church family.
  • Pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions for our congregation.
  • Continue to pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders and that they would seek His face.

Thanksgiving & Hope

Scripture Reading: 1 John 4:9-10

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

“What Wondrous Love Is This”

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

When I was sinking down, Sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down.
When I was sinking down Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside his crown for my soul!

To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing,
To God and to the Lamb I will sing!
To God and to the Lamb, Who is the great “I AM”
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing!

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And when from death I’m free I’ll sing on!
And when from death I‘m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on!
