Call to Worship

Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:2–8

And behold, there was a great earthquake,
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven
and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.

But the angel said to the women,
"Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead,
and behold, He is going before you to Galilee. There you will see Him.
See, I have told you."
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples.

Songs of Praise & Adoration

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens and earth reply, Alleluia!

(verse 2)
Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once, He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

(verse 3)
Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

(verse 4)
Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Resurrection Hymn (See What a Morning)    (audio link)

(verse 1)
See what a morning, gloriously bright
With the dawning of hope in Jerusalem.
Folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light
As the angels announce, “Christ is risen!”
See God's salvation plan wrought in love,
Borne in pain, paid in sacrifice.
Fulfilled in Christ the Man,
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead.

(verse 2)
See Mary weeping where is He laid
As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb.
Hears a voice speaking calling her name
It's the Master the Lord raised to life again.
The voice that spans the years
Speaking life, stirring hope, bringing peace to us.
Will sound till He appears
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead.

(verse 3)
One with the Father, Ancient of Days,
Through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty.
Honor and blessing, glory and praise,
To the King crowned with power and authority.
And we are raised with Him,
Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered!
And we shall reign with Him,
For He lives, Christ is risen from the dead!

Prayer of Thanksgiving

From Ephesians 2:4-7

Heavenly Father,

We praise and give thanks to You for being rich in mercy.
We give thanks to You for Your great love for us, that even when
we were dead in our trespasses, You have made us alive together with Christ.
Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who has revealed to us that it is only by Your grace
that we have been saved. It is only by Your grace that we are raised up with Christ
and seated with Him in the heavenly places. You have accomplished all of this so that in the coming ages You might show the immeasurable riches of Your grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Keep us hungering and thirsting for more of You each day
until You return. In Jesus name, Amen.

Songs of Hope & Assurance

Christ Arose    (audio link)

(verse 1)
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior.
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord.

(chorus)
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes.
He arose a victor from the dark domain
And He lives forever with His saints to reign!
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

(verse 2)
Vainly they watched His bed, Jesus my Savior.
Vainly they sealed the dead, Jesus my Lord.

(verse 3)
Death cannot keep His prey, Jesus my Savior.
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

In Christ Alone    (audio link)

(verse 1)
In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my Light, my Strength, my Song.
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace! When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.

(verse 2)
In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe!
This Gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid, here in the death of Christ I live.

(verse 3)
There in the ground His body lay, light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day, up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ.

(verse 4)
No guilt in life no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

Praying for One Another
  • Pray for one another in our church family that we would take greater joy in Christ’s victory over sin and death through His own death and resurrection.
  • Continue to pray for the needs of others in our church family during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for God to show us, by His Spirit how we can best show the love of Christ to our extended family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers during this time of isolation.
  • Continue to pray for the health, physical, and financial needs of our missionary families.
  • Continue to pray for Pastor Weyland, Jesse, and our elders as they make decisions for our congregation.
  • Continue to pray that God would give wisdom and guidance to our national, state, and local government leaders and that they would seek His face.

Scripture & Song of Response

Scripture reading: Jude 1:24-25

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless
before the presence of His glory with great joy,
to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Crown Him With Many Crowns    (audio link)

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.

Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angels in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his wondering eye at mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou for us hast died.
Be Thou o Lord, through endless days adored and magnified!
